Active Worlds Loses Two Members of the Community

Active Worlds has been deeply affected by the loss of two of it's valuable community members Logan. and KingChristianlll (also known as Seaking). Logan. was killed in the Rhode Island nightclub fire on February 20, 2003 and KingChristianlll was shot and killed when he witnessed an armed robbery on March 1, 2003. Heartfelt sympathies go out to the friends and families of these men.

MICHAEL JOSEPH KULZ
MAY 1, 1972 - FEBRUARY 20, 2003

He was better known as Logan. to everybody who was lucky enough to meet him in AW. Sweet, kind and gentle, he had a real fun sense of humor. Always joking with his friends here, he didn't have a mean bone in his body. He loved to build, or just hang out and chat.

Memories of our first few months in JunoDome come flooding back. It was early in 2001 when Logan. and a lot of us first migrated to AW via the JunoDome. Nobody knew what we were doing. VR chat was new and exciting for us. Build? How? What can we do in the Dome? Well, we formed "The Wallkeepers". Since we didn't know what we were doing, we stood against the walls of the Dome and watched all the tourists running around like crazy. When asked, we said we were "just keeping the walls of the Dome from falling down". Then somebody suggested all the gals put on the same av, form a line in front of the guys, and do the macarena. Viola!! Line dancing came to the Dome. Logan. and the guys thought that was too funny!!!! Building was a challenge to us all in the beginning. As we discovered better and cooler ways of doing it, we would sneak into each others builds and *steal* stuff. Logan. tried to hide stuff, but we would always find it. Logan. would catch us and yell, "STOP THIEF!!!! stop thief. Ohhhh, who cares?" LOL He was always willing to share.

Logan.'s sense of humor always kept us LOL. Logan. pulled an old blow dryer from the closet one day. His father asked him, "Is it broke?" Logan. replied, "No. I am."

Tragically, Logan.'s young life ended way too soon in the Rhode Island night club fire. He was doing what he loved, though... excitedly anticipating listening to live heavy metal music with his best friend. How could somebody, who most people in AW hadn't even met in real life, touch the hearts of everybody so deeply?

And leave it to Logan. to be the first of The Wallkeepers to find out how to climb onto the Dome roof. As we *kept the wall*, Logan. would be on the Dome roof, watching us from above. I believe he still is.

Logan. sweetie, this our solemn vow to you. We will never let your memory fade from AW. We will remember you forever and always. We miss you. We love you. (((((HUGS)))))

A memorial dedicated to Logan. and a teleport to Logan.'s builds can be found in AW at 27605.40S 12777.47E 0.09a 268

Again we have lost a dear member of ActiveWorlds: Arnold Klotsch citizen King Christian III also known as Seaking. Arnold Klotsch lost his life in an robbery while waiting to pick up his wife from work in Hillsborough County Fl. He was an active member of ActiveWorlds who was a wonderful builder. Many of his builds were in Alpha and AWwild. He used to co-own a world named Avaion and there he built a wonderful castle that was nominated for a CY. Not only King Christian III but his brother and father were members in Active Worlds. It was a family thing and I can say that King Brian K and Harley Dad have lost an important member of their family. A memorial site has been set up for him in aw 9872.18S 7803.96W 0.01a 351 for anyone that would like to leave a card or thought. This poem I think is befitting for all those who have lost lives over the last few months and who were dear members of ActiveWorlds:

Have you ever felt like you knew someone a long, long time ago?
Another place, another time, a friendship of the souls?
Two people who share a bond for reasons neither know,
A feeling that they were friends, a long, long time ago? Did they stumble onto each other by pure circumstance,
Or was it fate and destiny that played a certain hand?
Two souls intertwined, they are worlds apart,
But the soul, it knows no difference, in matters of the heart.
Somehow they are drawn together, fate has brought them back,
Each living worlds apart, they journey separate paths.
When this life is over, and a new life begins,
Their souls will find each other, two souls that we call friends.

For all those who we have lost this year you will never be forgotten. In our hearts and memories.
