Peacekeeper Tips

The virtual world is no different from the real world when it comes to the relationships between people. Unfortunately, in virtual worlds there are virtual jerks. Most of the people Peacekeepers deal with who engage in harassment are troubled and acting out. It is a poor comfort to know that when someone is picking on you in-world.

If you find someone is attacking you in chat or vandalism and you are unable to deal with it call a Peacekeeper.  Every Peacekeeper is dedicated to eliminating harassment in all of its forms. Peacekeepers enforce the AW guidelines. If you are not familiar with the guidelines please read them. Feel free to quote them to anyone harassing you.

Change

If you cannot resolve the issues with a harasser contact the Peacekeepers sooner rather than later. Harassment builds and success on the part of the harasser most often results in increased negative activity. In short it keeps getting worse.

When you involve the Peacekeepers you establish a relationship that will continue until the harassment stops. The Peacekeeper who works your case is not alone. Every Peacekeeper serving in the field is a member of a team and Peacekeepers back each other up. Every encounter or investigation of a harasser gets a report and every report gets inspected, considered, and archived. The team leader reviews all reports which are also, in the case of serious harassment, considered by the Peacekeeper Core members. Core has direct contact with AW employees to include direct access to the senior management of the company. Given sufficient justification, extreme actions include revocation of citizenships and blocking access to AW all together. Further, a chronic trouble maker may be placed on “eject on sight” status. It is always possible for a troublemaker to change; negative sanctions cease when the guidelines are observed.

Own Your Environment

You are part of the solution. If your problem is vandalism or harassment consider getting your own world. While there is an additional expense you gain complete control of your environment and can block accounts from entry to your world while allowing specific people access. Even if you don’t control the access to your world you can eject anyone you choose at any time. You don’t need a Peacekeeper.

If a world is not an option then consider asking a Peacekeeper to seed an object someplace remote in AlphaWorld. As long as you disable the “join” option in your settings and don’t tell anyone where your build is you are pretty much safe and building underground will hide your build from the AW Mapper. Don’t forget to block the person bothering you.
