Get To Know Your Neighbors!

We think it would be great if everyone got a chance to get to know some of the volunteers in the community, and to find out why they love AW so much. This month we're highlighting the Gatekeeper of the Month, Usul2

If there's a volunteer you'd like to see us highlight, let us know!

Meet Usul2

** Please allow me to introduce myself **

I am UsuL 2 your GateKeeper.

UsuL, as all Dune fans know, translates to "the base of the pillar". I chose this nickname because during my first week in activeworlds, I rarely spoke or left the security of one of the columns at the gate.

I immigrated to activeworlds in Oct.'98, and have been a proud member of the Gatekeepers since March '99. Although I have been dragged (kicking and screaming) many places in activeworlds, I still consider the Gate my home. Just recently, I won a world at AWBingo. You will occasionally see it on the worlds list as A_shirT. I named it that because I went to bingo hoping to win a shirt, now I have one. LOL

In real life, I am 45 years old, married (for 22 memorable years), and the father of two (my son is 20 yrs old and a member of the US Army, my daughter is 17 yrs old and entering her senior year in high school). We live in Minnesota where I am employed as a quasi professional/technical type. In other words I am a pharmacy technician in a large (300 bed) metropolitan hospital. My hobbies include activeworlds, web-walking (surfing is to fast for me), and fantasy football. Wooohoooo the season is about to begin.

Lastly, but most importantly, I wish to address my selection as GK of the month. I am greatly honored and pleasantly surprised by this announcement. All that I have done to deserve this honor is perform my duties when and as expected. My team leader and assistant team leader (Optimus Prime and Louise) are always ready to help and lend support if needed. And where would I be without all the wonderful gatekeepers that have come before me (Lord knows that I have borrowed many of my great macros from you). I only hope I can provide as much support and good examples to the GKs that follow. This wonderful honor belongs as much to all of you as it does to me.
