Chapter 1

25 Jan 2007. I got my new assignment today from the editor, I was given the tickets for a party, what is meant to be “the best valentines day party in years."

What does he think he is doing, a PARTY, he knows I hate parties but oh well an assignment is an assignment I guess - it will be good to get away from the usual nutters and crackpots that make up the normal staple of my column.

27 Jan 2007. Another boring day at the office, spent most of the day trying to think of a way out of this party assignment. No such luck though, so it seems I'm going, well anyway I got my camera ready and went out to buy some new clothes, I can at least make a good job and get some pictures of some drunken politician or some other scandal that would improve my ratings.

I wonder why they chose to use lapis rock for the party location, 12 miles away from anywhere of importance. Normally the only people who make the journey are either drunk or on some sort of pilgrimage as part of a cult.

Lapis

10 Feb 2007. My last entry before the party, got all my gear ready in the car and the map so I can find this place, they say the rock is unlike any other in the area and easy to find, but I've been lost trying to find less in the past so I am not going to take any chances, now lets see how this evening pans out ..........
