Cy Awards

Dear Activeworlds Community,

We wish to thank all of you for all your tremendous support and attendance at this years Cy Awards events. Attendance was at a (non-record) but healthy count of 256! Wooohoooo! There will be photos posted at the Cy Awards home page links at http://www.awcommunity.org/cyawards so please stop by and possible see yourself cutting a rug with your date!

One Summer open the ceremonies by saying "Today we have gathered not only to celebrate or recognize the winners, or those who were nominated but all the communities. The communities being you". She then introduced Weebo, Cyberwitch, and TechnoZeus, this year's CY Awards Executive Committee.

This year theme was "Remembering the Past", Weebo dedicated this Cy Awards on those who had passed away this last year of remembering two great AW citizens Weebette and Skyee. He tells us that we to move forward to a bigger and greater CY that the past is our cornerstone to our future. That we must not forget the past but to learn from it and move forward from there. We are to remember the old AW as ActiveWorlds, Inc.& to get ready to advances to the future of the NewAW.

Next up, Wings0nite introduced our CY Awards MC Woodrose o Presenting this evening's Special Guest: None other than the former Head of the CY Awards, AlphaBit Phalpha had lead the crowd in a big "CommunitY" cheer, AlphaBit announced that a total of 4636 votes had been cast for this year's round of CYs, a new voting record. After Phalpha's presentation, it was time for the awards to begin.

First up Woodrose introduced Meranna Presenting the Community Development in Architecture/Urban Planning/Design..to...SW Comit Praxton Oil Rig. He told the people "As you may know SW City is surrounded by the Irenic Ocean, and I was thinking of something unique that could be placed in an ocean, besides islands and ships. And so, an oil rig came to mind so I started some research as to what even goes on a rig and how they work. If you'd like to visit Praxton, you can see it at AW 2636S 3656E 3.4a 180".

Next Wings0nite introduced Donna Presenting the Community Development in Technical Enhancements to XelaG and his bot delph for x1 bot. XelaG had his bot delph accept the award for him.

Cyberwitch introduced Donna Presenting the Presenting Community Initiative in Community Groups/Activities and Events to ..Flagg, King Tex, and Team AWBingo, AWBingo2, 3, 4, 5, and x. King Tex accepting on behalf of the team, Thanking Flagg and Hamfon who without their efforts, our worlds would probably not exist.

Wings0nite introduced Vicky Ann o Presenting the Community Initiative for a Community or Town....SW Comit SW City. SW Comit came back onto the stage for his second CY of the night for SW City. However, Comit acknowledged that he was no longer mayor of SW City and passed the award on to Syntax, the new mayor. Syntax then told everyone that the award would be going to the entire SW City staff, which included SW Chirs, OniLink, Captain MAD Mike, and Vornox. The staff then proceeded to give the crowd a lesson in the official Lingo language of SW City.

Woodrose o introduced Malka Presenting the Community Initiative in Community Leadership/Participation.to..VernA V. She told us " Together as a family we have built the most beautiful world in all AW, and we are proud to call it our home.In accepting this award, I do so in behalf of my family".

Cyberwitch introduced Donna Presenting the Creative Vision & Application Object Design/Texture Application to....ShadowKnight LE for DsEden. ShadowKnight said "This dream has been accomplished by the wonderful citizens of Eden who, with their imagination and talents have made our world what it is today. I gratefully accept this award on behalf of the other two owners, passioneyes and Lady Emma, and everyone who has contributed to the beauty of DsEden".

Woodrose introduced Dmc2u Presenting the Creative Vision & Application in Innovative Design to Posh for the World Y2000.... Posh said that "After seeing nobody in AW had really done Egyptian style worlds and really loving the rich textures and endless possibilities an Egyptian theme could cover. This was their dream almost four years ago when Y2000 began"

When came back we were on to the next winner...

Wings0nite introduced Vicky Ann o Presenting the Creative Vision & Application Avatar Development to Lady Murasaki. Lady Murasaki told us by quoting William Faulkner in her acceptance speech, adding... "Faulker never got the chance to experience Active Worlds. She also said that we find the creativity inside all of us and ways to free it. We are a community of builders, modelers, programmers, and dreamers. Above all, we are a community of friends.

Next Cyberwitch introduced Weebo who Presenting this evening's Special Guest AWI CEO Rick Noll, otherwise known as E N Z O. He thanked the community for all they've done for AW and told that soon we will be be releasing AW 3.4 and the new building world NewAW to everyone. He then handed out the Spirit of Cy Award to Andras for all the work he has done behind the community scenes. "I just do my little work in my dark corner hoping that it helps the community as much as the community helped me."...modest Andras told the people there. ENZO then gave the Lifetime Achievement Award to AlphaBit Phalpha for her work in the Community, specifically the CY Awards. She thanked the community and the "3 main guys in her life since beginning of her life in Activeworlds", CCTech, King Tex, and her late husband Alpha Phalpha, as well as CYAWARDS world designer BitMaster.

Woodrose o introduced Vicky Ann o Presenting the Creative Vision & Application for an ActiveWorlds Web Site to Ananas. He told us that he wanted to "thank all those who helped me with ideas, technical information and especially friendship. My web site would not have been possible without them. It all started with Dachs' web site and an old German B&W SciFi series - contact made - City4All back then. With some information I found on Mauz web page I made AwStart, a program to visit more than one universe with the same browser".

> Then Cyberwitch introduced Meranna Presenting the Creative Vision & Application Environment Design in a Public Building World to Seiya Faye filled in padfoot on behalf of Seiya Faye who couldn't make it Seiya Faye wanted to "thank God for my gift of creativity and being my inspiration, her Starbuilds fans and she wanted to say to the other nominees, congratulations, even if you didn't win, I saw a great deal of your builds, and you all did very well. And lastly, I thank the CY team, even though you guys had some delays, you pulled off a superb job".

> Wings0nite introduced Dmc2u Presenting the Creative Vision & Application Environment Design in a Greater Universe World...to....ShadowKnight LE for DsEden Second win for the night for him! He said "We have the best group of cits, as well as frequently visiting friends. To Us it's the people that make it all that we'd hoped for. Each person adding something beautiful, unique to their own style. I just want to thank everyone who made this possible, everyone who voted for DsEden and my co-owners passioneyes and Lady Emma for their creative ideas, friendship and skills. From those who create and help create our objects, textures to those who help build Eden to what it is today. I thank you all".

Cyberwitch introduced Meranna Presenting the Creative Vision & Application for a Virtual Art Project...to.....dreamer2 Olympic Park in Yeti City dreamer2 told us that "It took the efforts of many to keep the tradition of CY's alive - I would like to thank the ppl that made it happen and all the hard work and workers behind it :)I would like to thank Yeti - for asking me to build in his city. It's a young community and growing fast with talented builders!And would like to thank ripper whose support and patience I appreciate the most ::even when I burnt his dinner:: lol".

Woodrose o introduced Donna Presenting The Cy Award for Write In Category...to AWTeen community Relations Officer, accepted the award on behalf of Chanty and Poseidon,the AWTeen Caretakers Thanking everyone and the citizens of AWTeen and all the hard work making what AWTeen is today.

Cyberwitch introduced dreamer2 Presenting the winner in Fibbles Award.....justine World amitie which is awarded for friendship, was given to justine, who gave her acceptance speech in both French and English.

Weebo introduced TechnoZeus this years CY Awards Executive Committee Telling us what the future holds and thanking everyone.

Finally in the end Woodrose o thank all Citizens who share their talents in our Community who nominated voted and participated in this Ceremony. A special Thankyou to our Guest Speakers E N Z O and "Bit". Congratulations to all who won awards and those who were nominated! A huge vote of thanks to all on the Committee and the "extras" who organized and made this Event HAPPEN so successfully..:))

After everyone had pictures taken on stage and than went onto the Ballroom for goods, drinks, and lot of dancing far into the night. Everyone seem to be enjoying themselves and the light show by 3dNetz and their team led by J o.
