"Merry Christmas From Everyone in AWSchool"

This month I have a guest columnist - Suzie, who is one of the great teachers in AWSchool. :)

Here are a few hints and tips to get you started on building a Christmas Site.

When thinking of design, especially abstract designs, think 'outside the square'.

Children's colouring-in books and cartoon books are an ideal place to get 'ideas' from.

Wrapped Christmas presents can easily be made using objects such as colm4m02.rwx...colm8m02.rwx....col10m02.rwx (animated and buried in the ground so only the tops show), midispk.rwx, wavspk.rwx, booth.rwx, in fact any square object, animated and/or colored.

Christmas cakes, yuletide logs, Christmas puddings can be made using various objects with various animates. Puddings can be made by using rock7.rwx, animated with av_hair2. with a second rock7.rwx slighty above the first, unanimated, for the icing. Add a couple or red rock3.rwx for cheeries and forestgreen rock2.rwx for holly leaves.

Candycanes: use red pot3.rwx and white pot3.rwx layered and positioned to achieve a cane effect.

Christmas trees: using tree03.rwx, make three trees in the one place, one plain, the second turned two clicks and up one click with an animate of flo3., the third turned two more clicks with the animate of fwb 12 12 300 (for snow effect).

Christmas Lights: using rock3.rwx and animations, eg. theblus, psy etc. make a twisted line and using commands such as astart and adone, have them flashing! code example: create name r1, visible off, animate me ocean2. 1 1 400, astart; adone visible off, visible r2 on, astart r2

Skating Rinks and Ski Slopes: using invisible bump panels, take your friends on a ride for Christmas.

Build yourself a Snata Claus and a Snowman by using rocks. Refer back to those children's books for these. Always remember that as long as people get the idea of what your design means it does not matter if it is not perfect or if it is abstract.

To view some basic Christmas designs you can teleport to AW 2601N 2378W facing North.

Have fun with your designs and enjoy :)
